Why do I need to hire a captain from the agency?
Since some events can be complicated and require more staff, the captain will perform as a bridge between staff and the host. We encourage you to hire a captain from the agency for various reasons. The most important is trust. Since our staff members have worked with each other in various situations, they have built trust to each other, know the abilities of each other and are sure to have the knowledge of what they do. Captain is responsible for every staff member and the work that has to be done during the event. Having an agency captain also ensures the quality of work done and a strong team work. Having a captain from your team may create some resentment from both parties that will not be very beneficial for both staff and hosts.
Why to hire a company to work at my party?
Though it may be cheaper at times to have individuals working at your event, it may cause some trouble later. Once the individual steps on your property, you automatically become liable for any accident that may take place during the working hours. By working with the agency, you are covered from lawsuits. The agency provides a disability and liability insurance to all workers and representatives of the company. Besides, by working with the agency, you get a quality of work.
Does your agency have insurance for me and my guests?
Unfortunately, we only insure our staff and company's representatives during the working hours at your party. However, you can obtain the liability insurance through the broker. If you work with the event planner or reserved the official venue, ask if the venue has the insurance for you or the event planner can obtain a single event insurance for you.
How many people do I need for my party?
Depending on the intensity of the event, you may need more or less staff than you think. You can fill in an obligation free form here and we will get back to you as soon as we can. Please, provide detailed information about the venue, your party, your expectations along with other information. You can always refer to our staffing advice section.
Why choosing New York Key Staffing against other agencies?
At NYK Staffing we are dedicated to exceptional service to our clients, we take care of our staff members, and help non profit organizations. We provide regular training to our staff and keep them updated on the current situations. There are many agencies that charge less, yet barely take care of their staff. We pay as much as we can to our staff and make sure that they all are happy when they step into the venue of your event. After all, they are the heroes of the day!
Are tips included in the cost?
Tips are not included and are strictly voluntary. We encourage you to tip your staff in person. We also encourage you to tip measurable to the job they do.
Does the agency provide housekeeping and ground keeping services?
At this time we only provide catering staff for the events. The responsibilities are limited to the agreement between the agency and clients.
Can I request a particular person to work for my event?
Yes, you surely can. However, we cannot guarantee the individual until they confirm to work at your event. Please, understand that the agency does not have a strict schedule where employees are required to work certain amount of hours. Therefore these types of inquires depend on employees' own schedule.
Do I have to provide food and water to staff?
You do not have to provide food during the events that last five hours or less. For the events longer than that please provide breaks and meals for staff according to the agreement. Make sure to discuss the flow of the event with your captain or arrived staff. We ask that you provide water for staff at all times to avoid dehydration and accidents.
Why five hours minimum?
It is an average time for the events from setup to breakdown. However if your event runs less than that, we still have to charge you for 5 hours to cover administrative expenses and provide sufficient hours to our staff.
What if I need staff for a longer period of time than requested?
You need to discuss it with staff first and agree on how long they need to stay. Then you and staff are required to report the changes in schedule (either in person, by email, by text or by leaving a voicemail). However, we encourage you to be as precise as possible with working hours because staff may be scheduled to work at a different event, or may not be available to stay longer. We do allow one hour slot for you to keep staff if needed. Longer hours have to be discussed and reported to the agency. Please note, unreported time may not get covered by our insurance policies.
Do you have event planning services?
At this time we provide partial event planning service. Unfortunately, we do not provide full service (from scratch to the end). We help you to confirm all the vendors, work on the day schedule, run the event from the beginning to the end. See what we can help you with as event planners here.
